Guddu cracks double century in WPCA

Centuries by Aslam Guddu, Moazzam and Riyaz and 6-14 by devastating Jabbar were the highlights of the ninth week matches in the Western Province Cricket Association Tournaments.
In the WPCA Premier League Crown Steel, batting first against AOT Sonex, racked up 275 as captain Shafeeq smashed 98 in 38 balls with 9 sixes and 4 fours whereas Shoeb made 68 in mere 23 balls. Babar hit 44. Imran took 2-44 and Shoeb 4-21. Shahjahan and Aijaz got 2 wickets each to bundle out AOT Sonex for 143 in just 16.2 overs to win the match by huge 132 runs. Faiq fought alone for 62.
Al-Saudi won against Usman Gems as Riyaz blasted 107 in 56 balls with 14 fours and 2 sixes to pile up 226. Shoeb and Aamir took 2 wickets each. In reply, openers Aamir Sajjad stroked 71 with 7 fours and 4 sixes and Aijaz Butt scored 65. But once openers fell Usman Gems just collapsed losing by 16 runs.
Against Fine Sweets, AOT My Style stroked a mammoth 239 with Usman making 78 in 36 balls, Nadeem hitting 66 in 24 balls and Qasim making 42. Naseem Khan grabbed 4-33 and Akram 3-33. Fine Sweets chasing this huge total fell short by just 7 runs making 232-4 as Qazi blasted 95 in 48 balls, Salman made 49 in 25 balls and Aarif stroked 42. Rashid Malik took 2 wickets.
In the Afternoon League, Nestle Mylo put up 181-3 as Omar cracked 75 not out and Basit made 38 against Nesma Holding which in response was all out for 123. Zafaran made 52. Zahid Qureshi scalped 3-18 and Adil 2-15.
Safra Prime batting first against Fuchs Hamrani came up with 191-8 as Abdullah cracked 59, Jabbar 36 and Fahim 35. Aatif bowled well to grab 4-48, Shahzad 3-27 and Nasir 2-8. Fuchs Hamrani was bowled out for 154 by the devatstating bowling of Jabbar who snatched 6 wickets for just 14 runs. Adalat took 2 wickets. Waqas made 31.
Usman Gems Eagle put up 140 against Micro Engineering. Irfan, Amjad, Erfan Mohammed and Aijaz got 2 wickets each. Micro, in reply, achieved 141 in just 91 balls with Nisar making 56 in 33 balls and Irfan remaining not out on 35.
In the WPCA Morning League, Attieh Steel plundered 228-5 as Star batsman Moazzam Shoukat blasted 168 in 59 balls with 13 sixes and 14 hits to the ropes. Faiz contributed 37. Amjad took 2-28. Johnson Control was stranded at 155 with captain Farrukh making 50 and Aamir scoring 47. Moazzam grabbed 5-14 and Shakil with his orthodox spin got 4-17 runs to win for Attieh.
My Care Green batting first posted 301, thanks to Aslam Guddu who blasted a record-breaking and breath-taking innings of 201 not out with 31 boundaries and 7 sixes – his second consecutive ton in as many matches Yasser made 41. AOT, in reply, could make only 62, losing by huge 239 runs.
Elaf Engineering posted 153 all out against PISJ-ES as Shoeb grabbed 4-21 and Abdul Rehman took 2 wickets. PISJ-ES could make only 126 thus losing by 27 runs. Irfan made 45 and Naveed Nawaz 34. Mansoor of Elaf grabbed 4-28, Shahnawaz 3-8 and Siddiq took 2-23.
In the last match of the day, Safra Company was all out for 140 against Usman Gems Blue as Iqbal scalped 3-14 and Iftikhar took 2-32. Adnan stroked 41 to take Safra Company to victory by getting to 141
