Prince Turki Bin Nasser Bin Abdul Aziz, President of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME), has said that the private sector should come forward to set up more recycling factories. “We want businessmen to open more recycling factories in not only the major cities, but also in villages,” he said when his attention was drawn to a news report in Sunday's Saudi Gazette on the recycling ‘mafia' operating in the Kingdom. Prince Turki was talking to the media after inaugurating an Earth and Meteorology Day forum here at Hilton, Sunday evening. He said several companies have taken steps to ensure smooth recycling of the industrial waste, but “more efforts are needed in this direction.” Regarding the recycling ‘mafia' report, the PME president said “we need to find the factories first so that these illegal workers don't find something in the trash bins in the streets as the trash will be taken directly from homes to the factories.”
