The Pakistan Journalist Forum (PJF) held a general meeting on Thursday about issues facing the Pakistani community on a daily basis in the Kingdom. The main objective of this meeting was upcoming event of Pakistan National Day, 23rd March that will be arranged by PJF in any local restaurant next week. Roughly 15 people attended the meeting and noticed the “ways of actual journalism and to show the society its growth.” PJF serves as a platform to speak out about the importance of upholding the standards and ideals of journalism. Shahid Nayeem, President of PJF said they are getting a hold of true journalism checks and balances within the community. “Several problems of individuals have been solved right before reporting about it in the media,” he said. “The PJF is trying its level best to solve the individual issues, and (the PJF has) become an intermediary force between the sufferer and the concerned party. Also it helps settling the job cases of Pakistani workers in different organizations.” Jamil Rathore, General Secretary of PJF said the National Day will feature quizzes and educational entertainment for children. “We have to grow Pakistani identity among people through the media and journalism based on truth,” said Ameer Mohammad Khan, the PJF's Chairman. “We have to cite certain examples in front of our journalist members in every regular meeting about the (problems) of (false) journalism.” __
