Dozens of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) here finished computer-related courses given by the Computer Society of Filipinos International (Comsofil) recently. Philippine Ambassador Antonio P. Villamor was guest speaker during their 21st Commencement Exercises held at the Riyadh International School (RIS) last Friday. At the graduation rites attended by 800 to 1,200 people, Villamor commended Comsofil for continuously helping OFWs upgrade their skills in information and communication technology and for giving them the confidence in their trade. “Comsofil will make a difference in your life with cash. When I say cash , it is not about money. I refer to a different kind of cash – C for confidence in yourself; A - for the right attitude towards works; S - for skills needed to improve yourselves; and H for habits of punctuality, commitments and discipline,” Villamor said. He also took the occasion to remind the Filipino migrant workers in the Kingdom to vote in this year's election for president, vice president, senators, congressmen and other local officials. The overseas absentee voting started on April 10 and will end on May 10, the day the Filipinos back home will cast their votes in the May 10 elections. The theme of this year's commencement exercises is “Comsofil at 15 years – A Journey with Commitment.” The Society's year-round general theme is “Interaction for Educational Excellence in Information and Communication Technology.” A prayer was delivered by Armando Soledad and the singing of the national anthem was led by Vilma Santo.
