Faisal, Emir of Makkah Region, says that there are only a few projects that are being delayed in Qunfudah, while the rest were being undertaken in good time. He cited as an example of a delayed project the building of a technical college and nine schools for boys and girls. The Makkah Emir attributed the delay to purely administrative procedures, pointing out that the process of surveying the land on which the schools are to be built might have caused the delay. Prince Khaled made the comments in Qunfudah on Tuesday where he was hosted by senior officials and tribal chiefs. He presided over a meeting of the local council and heads of government agencies of Makkah and Qunfudah. He also inaugurated a number of developmental projects including the new premises of the Qunfudah governorate, urban center and seafront. Prince Khaled criticized officials in Qunfudah for not communicating with the press to publicize the massive projects being carried out in the governorate. Following the visit, Fada Bin Bayyan Al-Baqami, Governor of Qunfudah, said Prince Khaled praised the developments taking place in the governorate. He also announced the approval of several projects, including the construction of an airport in Qunfudah, three more seafronts and a dual track express road. Meanwhile, Ali Bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, head of the Qunfudah Municipality, said Prince Khaled also looked at new projects, worth SR27 million, which have been offered for tender.
