Some 195 people of various nationalities involved in smuggling and promoting drugs were arrested during security operations in various provinces of the Kingdom during the last four months, announced Interior Ministry spokesman Mansour Al-Turki Tuesday. The security authorities seized 8,075,141 Captagon tablets, more than 2.7 tons of hashish and 20 kilograms of pure heroin, Al-Turki said. Those arrested included 108 Saudis, 29 Pakistanis, 17 Yemenis, nine Syrians, one Turkish national, one Sudanese, one Egyptian and one Indian. Identities of 28 people could not be immediately ascertained because they were infiltrators. The spokesman stressed that security forces will continue to carry out their duties to protect society from the scourge of drugs.
