Prince Faisal Bin Khaled, Emir of Asir region, offered Monday the government's condolences to the family of Sgt. Hadhal Bin Mudhaf Al-Aklabi at his home in Al-Thaniyah rural center in Bisha Governorate. Sgt. Al-Aklabi died while trying to rescue a family that was stranded by the Bisha floods last week. Prince Faisal described Al-Aklabi actions as heroic, brave and a sacrifice. Addressing Al-Aklabi's sons and brothers, he said: “Your father was a brave hero. He carried his work with sincerity, loyalty and diligence.” While inspecting the damage caused by the heavy rain and floods in Bisha Governorate, the Emir conceded that there was a shortage of some government agencies to counter the floods. He said that what Allah has destined cannot be stopped. However, some of the hazards can be prevented in future, he said. Prince Faisal said Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, asked him to inspect the region and report what government agencies have done to alleviate the suffering of citizens. He said the shortages are being studied to prevent a future recurrence. He promised that he would personally supervise future work. Prince Faisal stressed that the leadership would not spare any cost to protect citizens. He pointed out that committees are working to assess the damages caused by the rain. Prince Faisal praised the work of the Civil Defense. He also ordered that all culverts and storm-water drains be opened to allow flood water to flow away. Meanwhile, Prince Dr. Faisal Bin Muhammad Bin Saud Bin Abdul Aziz, Undersecretary of Al-Baha governorate continued Monday his inspection tour of the sites that were damaged by the floods and heavy rains. The prince inspected the charitable housing project in Jarab rural center of Al-Aqeeq Governorate and saw the extent of the damage. He also met with the residents of the project and listened to their concerns. Prince Dr. Faisal expressed anger at the poor construction of the roads that were swept away in Al-Suwaisiyah and Beedah. Addressing Engineer Abdul Aziz Al-Badawi, Director General of Road in Al-Baha Region, he said: “This is haphazard work and is unacceptable.
