Against the backdrop of challenges facing industry investments in the Arab world, a senior official of Construction Products Holding Company (CPC) - a dynamic and reputable entity possessing a wealth of global experience in construction products with head office in Jeddah, has called for measures to tackle the developments. Dr. Faysal Alaquil, director, Business Development of CPC International, said: “The Arab industry faces many challenges in the area of industry investments including lack of Arab industrial integration and low inter-Arab trade. In view of such challenges the need for laying down measures to protect a number of industries has become a must. Hence, the Arab International Industrial Forum plays a key role in developing Arab industry, expanding its base and boosting its competitiveness in the international markets, as well as providing a venue for periodical meetings for decision-makers from public and private sectors in the Arab countries to establish open dialogues among each other.” Alaquil made the observation ahead of the upcoming Arab International Industrial Forum to be held on May 25-28 at Doha Exhibition Center in which CPC is a sponsor. The forum, under the patronage of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, is organized by the Arab Organization for Industrial Development and Mining, in cooperation with Qatar Ministry of Energy & Industry and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Qatar. “The forum aims also to create Arab/International gathering to act as a platform for dialogues between business and investment communities and their international counterparts, representatives of major companies, Arab and international banks and financial institutions. The forum also aims to nationalize technology as well as to support research and development in the industrial sector and mining,” he noted. It also seeks to introduce various investment opportunities in the industrial sector and create Arab - International partnerships, as well as provide the appropriate environment for holding business discussions, as well as introducing joint projects as a means for the integration of Arab industry, and the promotion of such projects, he further said. Taking place alongside the forum is an industrial promotional exhibition.
