Thousands of families have been flocking to the Corniche here to visit the Flower Show Festival and Exhibition 2010 organized by the Eastern Province Municipality. More than 3,000 varieties of flowers, plants, shrubs, landscaping, bushes and gardening materials are on display at the exhibition specially arranged in the newly constructed King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Park in front of Dammam beach. The exhibition began last week. This is the 11th consecutive year of the organization of the flower show and the exhibition and its aim is to enlighten visitors about the importance of preserving the safety of environment and the effect of beauty of flowers, plants on the lives of the people. The exhibition is also showcasing latest agricultural tools and has relevant information on watering the plants, protection of living environment, date palm cultivation methods, harmful insects and pests and plants used for preparation of cosmetics. More than 50 different plant, gardening, landscaping, flower and agricultural companies in the Eastern Province are takeing part in exhibition and selling their products. April 23 is the last day of the flower show that starts at 5 P.M. and closes at 10 P.M. The exhibition includes various activities consisting of cultural and awareness programs as well as entertainment programs for families and children.
