The Pakistani Peoples Community in Riyadh (PPP-Riyadh) observed the 31st anniversary of the death of Pakistan's Prime Minister, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, at a select gathering recently. The event was attended by party workers and office-bearers. Khan Abdul Karim Khan, senior vice president of the PPP-KSA, was the chief guest while Sardar Sher Afzal, vice president of the organization, was the guest-of-honor on the occasion. Khan said he was confident about the present PPP-led government and argued that the government was doing the right things in line with the policies of Bhutto and his daughter Benazir, who was assassinated in 2007. The program was conducted by Sardar Naseer Khan, the deputy general secretary of the organization, who outlined how Bhutto was “martyred” and gave a brief outline of the late leader's history. Naim Moghul, vice president of the organization, paid tribute to Bhutto. Raja Moazzam, senior vice president of the PPP-Riyadh region, condemned what he saw as the conspiracy behind Bhutto's alleged judicial murder. He said Bhutto was killed on the April 4, 1979 but there were many carrying a torch for the former leader. At the end of the program three resolutions were passed: to express confidence in the leadership of the government; for the government to investigate the manner in which Bhutto was “martyred” and for his name to be cleared of any wrongdoing; and congratulated the government for deleting the name of the former Pakistan leader and military “dictator”, Mohammed Zia-ul-Haq, from the country's constitution. __
