Turki Bin Khaled Al-Sudairi, Chairman of the Human Rights Association, has moved the education authorities to transfer a teacher suffering from slip disc to a school near his home. Sa'id Saif Al-Numailah, who has taught for 16 years in remote areas, failed to secure the Ministry of Education's approval for his transfer to a school near his home after he suffered a slipped disc. Al-Numailah said that he underwent surgery but that it did not alleviate the unbearable pain: "The Department of Education in Sarat Obaidah Governorate in Asir region showed disregard to my health condition even though my problems are the result of traveling for long distances in rugged terrain in Tihama Qahtan and other remote areas." He expressed hope that a committee could be set up to look into his case and decide to approve his transfer or to allow him to go into early retirement based on medical reports. - Okaz Turki Bin Khaled wrote a letter to the Minister of Education requesting an approval of the teacher's transfer, particularly that physicians advised him to perform only light work and not to drive. Dr. Abdullah Bin Saleh Al-Mugbel, Deputy Minister of Education for School Affairs, wrote to the Director of Education in Sarat Obaidah to request an urgent report on the case of the teacher. - Okaz __
