ACC and Young Challengers tasted victories in the third week matches of the 13th SIFF-JNH Soccer 2010 at the Sharbatly ground here. In the First Division, Western Union-ACC, which had to share points and goals with Blue Star A in the opening match of the tournament, combined better in its second encounter to emerge winner against another fighting outfit Eastern-BCC on a solitary goal scored by former Viva Kerala player Ahmed Malik. Earlier, in a Second Division Match, dominating throughout Young Challengers Club thrashed Al-Huda Sports Club 4-1 in Group A. Misib, Sajid Babu, Shamseer and Shameer were the strikers who found the target for Young Challengers while the consolation goal for Al-Huda was netted by Sameer. The tournament is mainly sponsored by Jeddah National Hospital (JNH) and organized by Saudi Indian Football Forum (SIFF). Strong on paper, Western-Union ACC though put up a better show Eastern-BCC matched it move for move in the action-packed first session. Both the teams rose to the expectations of the crowd and it was thrilling session with attacks and counter-attacks in every minute. But after Ahmed Malik brilliantly scored off a pass from captain Saheer, the match slowly lost the pace and tempo, making the session a mediocre affair. Though Eastern-BCC tried its level best Western Union-ACC held firm to emerge winner. After a week's break, the tourney will resume with two matches on April 23 – Yas Club vs. Rainbow Sports Club (5.15 P.M.) and Mohsen Cargo-Friends vs. Blue Star A (6.55 P.M.).
