KHAFJI - Three Indian workers in a popular restaurant here were arrested after they were found using their bare feet in kneading flour to make bread. The restaurant, located in the busiest commercial area of the city, is patronized mostly by Saudis. The place is also frequented by expatriates. Customers who saw the unsanitary and unusual way of kneading dough to make bread, like the popular parata, tipped off the police. The police organized a team composed of Al-Khafji municipal authorities and raided the restaurant. The team found out that the dough was laid out on the floor of the restaurant kitchen with the feet of the Indian workers still printed on it. The wall of the kitchen was also stamped with handprints of the workers who were using the wall as support to balance themselves while doing their work. Upon seeing the combined team of police and municipal officials, workers of the restaurant tried to run away, but three of them were caught. Municipal authorities immediately shut down and sealed the restaurant and confiscated all the equipment and food items. Police are now looking for the owner of the restaurant, an Indian, who was running the business with his brothers and other relatives. __
