Dewayesh, Executive President of Saudi Telecom (STC), has announced the operational revenues for 2009 of over SR50 billion, the highest in the company's history. “This shows conclusively the success of the company's foreign expansion policy and its goal of increasing revenues, and reflects its strength in withstanding local and foreign competition and adopting strategies to increases its competitiveness at home and abroad,” Al-Dewayesh said. According to Al-Dewayesh, STC attracted an 8 percent increase in the number of mobile telephone users, bringing the number up to 21 million. “The company is fully committed to investing in advanced technology and the new generation networks NGN,” he said. STC's General Assembly approved the distribution of dividends and the company's financial statement for fiscal year 2009.
