It was a dream come true for cricketers here when Bandula Waranapura, Development Manager, Asian Cricket Council (ACC), along with dignitaries from Royal Commission Yanbu and Saudi Cricket Center (SCC), inaugurated the Royal Commission cricket ground. After 22 weeks of hard work the ground had been renovated and it wears a new look with the 30-yard circle having natural grass with turf wicket, which is first in the Kingdom. During the ceremony, Yanbu Al-Sinayah Cricket Association (YACA) President Akram Qureshi made a comprehensive presentation on renovation and development work at the ground like laying of grass, side screens for both ends, laying of the natural turf pitch and fixing additional lights. He also informed that an official letter has been received by the Royal Commission authority from the office of Prince Dr. Faisal Bin Muhammad Bin Saud Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Governor of Al-Baha Region and Patron of SCC, to provide land for a new cricket ground. Bassam Al-Yamani, Director, Social Service Department, Royal Commission, assured his continued support to YACA and said that suitable land for the second cricket ground will soon be awarded. Warnapura expressed his satisfaction on the outstanding efforts by YACA and assured that ACC will continue to support their development program. YACA officials expressed their gratitude to the authorities of Royal Commission for their wonderful support to YACA and SCC in improving the infrastructure and the development work. Nadeem Nadwi, CEO of SCC congratulated YACA and thanked Royal Commission for their hospitality and support to Saudi cricket. He also appreciated the efforts of YACA in promoting the game among Saudi nationals and thanked the sponsors. __
