The father of a two-year-old child foiled an attempt by a baboon to snatch his son on Monday. The “savage beast” reportedly entered a house where the infant was playing in the town of Al-Ardhiya to the north east of Al-Qunfudah and snatched him in full view of his parents before heading out into the yard and attempting to jump over the perimeter wall. The father leapt up in pursuit however, and managed to shove the baboon and force it to release its grip on the child before it bounded over the wall and off into the distance. The child was taken to hospital with bruises from being thrown to the ground.
