Saudi Aramco's Nabilah M. Al-Tunisi and 27 fellow distinguished alumni of the College of Engineering at Oregon State University (OSU) were honored recently during the Oregon Stater Awards, an event that recognizes exceptional OSU engineers and their career accomplishments. Al-Tunisi was awarded membership in the university's Academy of Distinguished Engineers, which recognizes those who have made sustained and significant contributions to their profession, their field, OSU or to society. Al-Tunisi, an electrical engineer, received her master's degree in computer engineering from OSU. “I honestly do not know how to express my gratitude for the generosity of OSU,” Al-Tunisi said. “To be remembered and recognized after all these years, although I was a foreign student, speaks of the generous spirit of the American education system and the wonderful world of globalization,” she said. Other awardees included leaders at international universities and corporations, founders of companies throughout the world and directors at major US federal agencies. “One of the ways in which we measure our success is through the accomplishments of our alumni, and we are honored to number Ms. Al-Tunisi among those who have made a profound and positive impact on our world,” said Ronald L. Adams, dean of the OSU College of Engineering.
