FIFA has declared valid the result of the second-leg match between Al-Nasr of Saudi Arabia and host Al-Wasl of the UAE, according to a statement issued by the technical committee of the Gulf Clubs Championship. However, FIFA ordered Al-Wasl to play its home match either in another country or play at home with the stadium closed for fans. The Saudi side has accepted the decision of FIFA. “We agreed at the last meeting that whatsoever the FIFA decision we would respect it,” said Faisal Abdul-Hadi, Secretary General of the Saudi Football Federation (SAFF). Al-Nasr had protested the result of its away match that ended in favor of Wasl after Wasl supporters jumped onto the field and hit some Nasr players and official during the first half of the extra time. Abdullah Al-Hilali of Oman was the referee who officiated the match.
