Oakland's Brett Anderson held Seattle scoreless into the seventh inning to set up the Athletics' 6-2 win over the Mariners in Thursday's American League West clash. Anderson struck out four and walked one to take the win. Daric Barton drove in a career-high four runs for the A's. Twins 10, Angels 1: In Anaheim, California, Brendan Harris hit a tiebreaking two-run homer as Minnesota thumped Los Angeles. Jim Thome drove in three more runs with his 565th career home run. The Angels' 1-3 start is their worst for 18 years. The Twins already have nine homers, and have gone over the fence in each of their first four games for the first time since 1997. Tigers 7, Royals 3: In Kansas City, Missouri, Miguel Cabrera homered and drove in four runs to lift Detroit over Kansas City. Tigers starter Dontrelle Willis turned in six solid innings in his first regular-season start in almost 10 months. Willis, plagued with chronic wildness during his shortened 2009 season, walked the first batter he faced on four pitches. But the former two-time National League All-Star issued only one more base on balls and had four strikeouts, giving up two runs. The Royals bullpen blew three saves in the season-opening three-game series against the Tigers. Blue Jays 3, Rangers 1: In Arlington, Texas, Toronto rallied with three runs in the ninth to beat Texas. Rangers closer Frank Francisco failed in his first save attempt of the season. He gave up a leadoff homer to Vernon Wells - his fourth homer in three games - then a triple, the go-ahead sacrifice fly and an RBI single. Orioles 5, Rays 4: In St. Petersburg, Florida, Baltimore starter Brian Matusz allowed only two runs over five innings to steer the Orioles past Tampa Bay. Matusz overcame control problems to win his fifth straight decision, dating back to last season. The left-hander walked a career-high five but also struck out seven. Garrett Atkins drove in a pair of runs with a single during a four-run sixth that gave the Orioles a 5-2 advantage. Baltimore had loaded the bases with no outs on a single, hit by pitch and walk. Indians 5, White Sox 3, 11 innings: In Chicago, Asdrubal Cabrera hit a tiebreaking, two-out single in the 11th inning to boost Cleveland over Chicago. Grady Sizemore drove in three runs for the Indians, who moved over .500 for the first time since 2008. Cabrera's single in the 11th scored Luis Valbuena from second. Sizemore followed with his second RBI double of the night.
