year-old girl died from smoke inhalation after a fire broke at an apartment in Ghulail District here Tuesday. The girl's mother and her three other children were saved along with a neighbor. The Civil Defense was called to the scene by neighbors who saw smoke billowing out of the flat at dawn and firefighters managed to penetrate the thick smoke and rescue the four along with an Asian woman who lived in an adjacent apartment. All suffered varying degrees of burns and smoke inhalation. Fire crews said they succeeded in containing the blaze despite difficulties in accessing the site which was located down a narrow alleyway.
