Authorities ordered closed a private polyclinic in Mohammediya District here after serious violations were found in its functioning during an inspection tour on Wednesday. Giving reasons for the closure, Dr. Mahmood Abdul-Jawad, Director of the medical inspection and licensing department of Jeddah Health Affairs, said, “there were insufficient doctors and nurses to run the medical center. We also discovered some expired medicine. Furthermore, the polyclinic had no ambulance which is a must for all medical service providers.” He added that the owner of the medical center would be called for investigations. He also said that the infringements would then be referred to the medical violations committee for suitable punishment and fines.
