The Ministry of Higher Education on Saturday denied news circulating lately in the local media on the suspension of scholarships to Britain, Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia. “The fact is that many documents received from a number of cultural attaches failed to satisfy all requirements to enroll Saudi students abroad studying at their own expenses in scholarship program,” said supervisor general of the Central Department of Scholarships at the Ministry of Higher Education Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al-Mousa. “Students must have completed 30 credit hours with grade point average of 3.5 out of 5 or 2.5 out of 4 for undergraduate programs and nine credit hours for graduate programs with an overall Very Good rating to be registered in the scholarship program,” he said. Dr. Al-Mousa added that the Ministry of Higher education is still sending its students to the above mentioned countries to puruse their higher education. SPA __
