Harthi gave Al-Nasr three points in its King's Cup opener against host Al-Ahli at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium Monday. The 3-0 victory gave Nasr new hope to compete in the season's last championship after it failed to win any of the year's other tournaments. Harthi put Nasr in the lead nine minutes after the break. He doubled the lead seven minutes later, only to add one more 10 minutes later to seal the win. Nasr's Uruguayan coach Jorge da Silva watched the match from the supporters seats. Nasr keeper Abdullah Al-Enizy also put on a stunning performance, succeeding to foil several of the Ahli players' attempts. Enizy skillfully saved a perfect foul kick from outside the box by Marcinho in the 83rd minute. Enizy foiled another attempt by the same player three minutes later. Ahli striker Malik Mo'adh did not play since he missed the team's last training session. Ahli supporters were unhappy with the team's performance. Some of them threw empty bottles at the players after the match. Sunday's action saw Hilal beat Al-Fateh 3-1, Ittihad win over Al-Hazm 4-1, and Shabab snatch a 1-0 win over Al-Wehdah.
