Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Minister of Interior, is scheduled to honor the 1,405 graduates of the 38th batch during the Spring 2008 commencement ceremony at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Dhahran on Thursday. The graduates will leave school with 1,246 Bachelor's degrees, 153 Master's degrees and six Ph.Ds. In a statement on this occasion, Dr. Khalid Al-Sultan, President of KFUPM, congratulated the graduates and revealed his pride in them to be KFUMP alumni. On behalf on his university, he thanked Prince Naif for gracing the ceremony. It would be a big support for the university's plans to teach and train more students to carry out an active role in serving the Kingdom, he said. For Prince Naif to attend the ceremony personally is solid evidence of the great attention the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Crown Prince has given to higher education, he added. This attention emanates from a deep conviction of the role of higher education in preparing the country's human resources inspired by high principles that would both safeguard Saudi culture and traditions and keep pace with development across the globe, he concluded. – Okaz __
