Marco Borriello and Klaas Jan Huntelaar scored for Milan, while Daniele Ragatzu and Alessandro Matri found the net for Cagliari. Daniele Astori scored an own-goal to give Milan the win. Palermo remains in fourth place despite losing 2-0 to Catania in the Sicilian derby after Maxi Lopez scored twice. Juventus missed a chance to take advantage of that slip-up by losing 3-0 at Udinese, with goals from Alex Sanchez, Simone Pepe and Antonio Di Natale.
