Veteran fast bowler Brett Lee was included in Australia's squad Tuesday despite injury concerns ahead of next month's Twenty20 cricket World Cup in the Caribbean. The 33-year-old Lee has played only one match, taking 0 for 39 for King's XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League, since returning this month from a serious elbow injury. He won selection ahead of the in-form Ryan Harris. “While Brett Lee hasn't played the amount of cricket we would have liked him to in preparation for this World Cup, at his best he is one of the best Twenty20 cricketers in the world,” chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch said. “He also has the opportunity of continuing to play in the IPL as preparation for this tournament. “Ryan Harris is extremely unlucky to miss selection given his strong performances in all forms of the game in recent times for Australia.” Test regular Mike Hussey was also included in the T20 squad, ahead of left-hander Travis Birt, while Daniel Christian has held his place as an all-rounder. Australia will play Pakistan and Bangladesh in the group stages of the World Cup, which runs from April 30 to May 16. The top two teams advance to the knock-out. The 25-year-old batsman, who was dropped for the recent Test and one-day series against England because of inconsistent form, was given a second chance, chief selector Rafiqul Alam said. Former skipper Mashrafe Mortaza, a key fast bowler and a useful lower-order batsman, was also named in the 15-man squad after regaining fitness and rhythm, Alam said. Middle-order batsman Jahurul Islam, 23, who made his debut in the Test series against England, was the only newcomer in the squad led by all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. Squad: Shakib Al Hasan (captain), Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Mohammad Ashraful, Aftab Ahmed, Mohammad Mahmudullah, Naeem Islam, Mashrafe Mortaza, Abdur Razzak, Shafiul Islam, Rubel Hossain, Syed Rasel, Suhrawadi Shuvo, Jahurul Islam. Australia eyes win Australia looks set for a 2-0 series victory following a productive day four of the second Test against New Zealand in Hamilton Tuesday. After setting an unlikely victory target of 479, Australia reduced the hosts to 185-5, with Mitchell Johnson (3-39) in impressive form in Hamilton. New Zealand's dwindling hopes rest upon Martin Guptill (29 not out) and Brendon McCullum (19 not out). Earlier, Marcus North (90), Michael Clarke (63) and Brad Haddin (48) pushed Australia to 511-8 declared. Pakistan-SA tour in UAE! The Pakistan Cricket Board is proposing a Test and one-day series against South Africa in the United Arab Emirates this year. PCB's chief operating officer Wasim Bari said Tuesday that it has asked South Africa to play three Tests and five One-Day Internationals. Bari says they've proposed to start the series from Oct. 28 at Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Pakistan has been virtually a no-go zone for foreign teams since militants attacked the Sri Lanka cricket team bus at Lahore last year, killing six police officials and a driver.
