A college girl dressed in man's clothes created panic at the women's campus of Umm Al-Qura University here on Tuesday. The girl stormed into the campus wearing man's sunglasses and a thobe under her loose abaya, and started taking video clips of the girls around her. The terrified girls called on the administration and campus security to arrest the “manly woman.” The girl was arrested by women security officials. Nora Qaroot, the dean of the women's campus, took off her scarf to show the students that she was talking to their female classmate in a bid to get them calm down. “The girls were just terrified by the scene of ‘a man' on a women's campus and acted irrationally,” she said. The women's campus responded to a call from the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, the Hai'a, by informing them that the situation was just a hoax. The Hai'a was stationed outside the campus. The girl is under investigation.
