A deadly shot in the head ended a row between two Saudi trainees at an oil company in Jeddah Monday, authorities said. Eyewitnesses said they heard the gunshots and saw a young man lying on the ground bleeding from his head outside an airline ticket sales center on King Abdullah Road. The witnesses said it was a stream of bullets. One bullet hit the wall of the center. The two were believed to be “good friends,” according to the police. The killer refused to hand his gun over to the police, demanding the presence of Lt. Gen. Ali Al-Ghamdi, chief of the Jeddah Police Department. The chief came to the crime scene and talked to the killer who eventually dropped his gun. The killer was taken to hospital for treatment and then to the Kandara Police Station. The fatal incident started with an argument after which the killer pulled out his gun and killed “his friend,” police said. It is not clear yet if the crime was premeditated and what the argument was about. During questioning at the police station, the killer said “I had no clue what I was doing until I saw him lying in his blood.” Forensics teams cordoned off the crime scene to search for more evidence.
