In a statement, Prince Turki noted that the festival provides a good opportunity for thinkers, intellectuals, writers, poets and innovators in the Arab and Muslim World to gather together and exchange views on issues of mutual interest. He praised the motto of the national festival which is: ‘One world and various cultures', as well as selecting France as the Guest of Honor of the festival this year. “This stands as a witness of the Kingdom's distinguished role in regional and international arenas,” he said. Hailing the great humanitarian initiative of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, for dialogue among followers of religions, Prince Turki said that the Kingdom has been conducting a balanced dialogue with the West in a manner that enables the Islamic voice to be audible everywhere. “Saudi Arabia is keen on promoting and forging dialogue so as to eliminate terrorism, fanaticism and hatred,” he said. The Prince highlighted the various pavilions of the national festival and said they reflect the situation in the Kingdom's regions and cities.
