Flamingos are seen at the zoo in Riyadh, Sunday. The zoo covers an area of 55 acres. It was established in 1957 and after refurbishing in 1987 it was opened to the general public. The zoo offers an astounding collection of more than 40 species of animals and birds. There are more than 1,400 animals including leopards, monkeys, lions, hyenas, vultures, kangaroos, seals, elephants, camels, reptiles, crocodiles, rhinoceros, snakes, gazelles and others housed in the zoo.
