Mobily and Nokia Siemens Networks had showcased 4G technology in the Kingdom at Gitex 2009, held in Riyadh in April 2009. More recently, Etihad Etisalat, the company behind the Mobily network in Saudi Arabia, has successfully concluded testing of all 4G services with its giant telecommunications infrastructure and mobile networking partner Huawei this month. Similarly, Zain has signed an agreement with Ericsson to deploy 4G technology. The agreement involves the completion of stage one of the deployment of the next generation of mobile phone technology (LTE) that will cover Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Al Khobar.
