There has been an increase of 34 percent in the US exports of food and agricultural products to Saudi Arabia that reached $969 million in 2009. The total agricultural products – including fish and other food products that the US exported to Saudi Arabia in 2009 – reached $721 million, while the export of retail packed or consumer-oriented food products amounted to $248 million, representing a 34 percent of the total US exports to Saudi Arabia. The US has been a leading trading partner of Saudi Arabia. To cash in on the growing interest of US investors, service providers and product distributors in Saudi market Riyadh Exhibitions Company (REC) has appointed J.P.Wright, a US-based consultancy agency to promote trade exhibitions and conferences organised in the Kingdom by REC. REC-organized exhibitions and conferences are offering a mutually beneficial networking platform for both the US and Saudi market players, said Mohammed Al-Hussaini, Deputy General Manager, REC. “It is therefore very important for us to create greater awareness about the strategic industry events that REC is organizing. The new partnership with J.P.Wright is part of ongoing efforts to boost our presence in the US market and effectively reach out to different target audiences,” he said. Prince Saud Bin Abdallah Al-Faisal, REC Chairman and John Parke Wright IV, Chairman of J.P.Wright signed the agreement. Under the agreement J.P. Wright will cover the forthcoming Saudi Build & Saudi Stone 2010, Saudi Agriculture 2010 and Saudi Agro-Food 2010. Saudi Agro-Food 2010 – the 17th International Trade Show for Food Products and Saudi Agriculture 2010 – the 29th International Agriculture, Water and Agro-Industry Exhibition will be held concurrently with Saudi Food Packaging 2010 – the International Exhibition for Food Processing and Packaging from October 4 to 7 at Riyadh International Exhibition Centre off King Abdullah Street. Saudi Build & Saudi Stone 2010 is scheduled to take place between October 18 and 21 at the same venue.
