Under the auspices of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) will host today (Saturday) an Arab conference on the developmental and economic impacts of nano-technology. The conference is jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Islamic Development Bank, the KFUPM, King Abdul Aziz University, King Saud University, and the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization of Morocco. The conference is aimed at raising awareness of the importance of controlling nano-applications and its impacts on the future of Arab economies, generating effective policies and programs for the transfer and the best utilization of the nano technology in the Arab region, in addition to discussing the development of the role of technology cities, parks and centers in the transformation of scientific knowledge into products and industrial services.
