Al Salem Johnson Controls, market leader in building efficiency in Saudi Arabia, has introduced a new and unique tool to reduce paper consumption among its technical staff and within the company's manufacturing facility. Basil Abdulaziz, managing director of Al Salem Johnson Controls, said the tool is “a sheetless clipboard, using a rewritable surface with a whiteboard-like coating, which will allow engineers and technicians to write, erase and rewrite as often as they like.” In an initial trial, the company provided the clipboard to around 200 of its technical staff. The solution saved around 2,000 paper sheets daily (60,000 monthly). Sheikh Saleh Binladen, vice chairman of the board, added: “This innovative solution demonstrates Al Salem Johnson Controls' commitment towards protection of the environment.” Johnson Controls is the global leader that brings ingenuity to the places where people live, work and travel. By integrating technologies, products and services, the firm creates smart environments that redefine the relationships between people and their surroundings. Its commitment to sustainability drives its environmental stewardship.
