Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, Imam and Khateeb of the Holy Mosque in Makkah, is to outline at the International Conference on Terrorism at Madina's Islamic University 10 ways to combat terrorism. Al-Sudais, who is scheduled to present his paper – entitled “Terrorism in the Light of Holy Qur'an and Sunnah: Diagnosis and Treatment of the Disease” – on Tuesday, will appeal to scholars to “enlighten the youth about the true Islamic principles which advocate tolerance, moderation and flexibility, in order to correct misunderstandings due to the propagators of deviant thought”. Al-Sudais also names the organizations and institutions which can play the most significant roles in fighting terrorism, citing “the Kingdom's leaders, the Board of Senior Ulema, Jurisprudence (Fiqh) academies, mosques and Friday sermons, anti-terrorism security bodies, and the home and family, educational bodies and the media”.
