The 12th Century International Quality ERA Convention 2010 was recently held in Geneva, Switzerland. The conference gathered companies from 74 countries and was highlighted by the Business Initiative Directions Award bestowed to the world's top businesses. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's private sector made its presence strongly felt during the event through the Elaf Group of Companies, a pioneer in travel, tourism and hotel services across the Kingdom, which won an award under the travel, tourism and hospitality category. Majed Saud Kaki, deputy general manager of Elaf Group, received the award on behalf of its CEO Ziyad Ahmed Bin Mahfouz. Bin Mahfouz said: “Receiving this award under the travel, tourism and hospitality category is a testament to our growing presence and the outstanding reputation of our hotels and travel and tourism services in Saudi Arabia. Looking ahead, we intend to sustain our commitment to setting new standards in keeping with modern developments and effectively meet the regional and international needs of the market.” The Convention's International Quality Award was established to encourage businesses to keep pace with global progress, further develop their capabilities and services, drive innovation, and promote competitiveness by adhering to world-class standards. By recognizing leading businesses and individuals, the Award promotes excellence through higher standards in various fields and consolidates organisational strengths and efforts. “The latest recognition complements our focus on providing the best services and attracting new clients, which in turn ensure our continued growth and success. We participated in the awards to further promote our presence across the international markets and advance our plans for the KSA market. We are pleased that our world-class quality services easily passed evaluation and proved to be in line with international standards,” Bin Mahfouz noted.
