Two members of the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice ( the Hai'a) reportedly suffered minor injuries during a confrontation with a man who tried to flee with a young woman in the vicinity of a girls' college here on Sunday. The Hai'a was called to the college after being informed that a young man was loitering in his car outside the location, and he was later observed attempting to accompany a college girl elsewhere, at which point the Hai'a stepped in. When stopped, however, the man produced a large stick from his car and attacked the two Hai'a staff, a confrontation that was only resolved when two police cars arrived at the scene. A spokesman for the Hai'a said the two staff members were taken to hospital and discharged after treatment, while the man and woman were taken to a local police station.
