The Military Vocational Training Program at the National Guard is scheduled to celebrate the graduation of its 2008 class on Sunday in Jeddah. The graduation commencement will be attended by Prince Dr. Khaled Bin Faisal Bin Turki Aal Saud, deputy of the National Guard for the Western Province. Prince Khaled congratulated the graduates and advised them to fear Allah in their public and private lives, and to be devoted to work and loyal in serving their country wherever they might be employed. The graduates have the choice to either serve in the National Guard or in other government or private offices. Prince Khaled said the Military Vocational Training Program kicked off in 2004. The first class had 884 graduates, of whom 717 were employed by the National Guards. The second, third and fourth batches of graduates had 917, of whom 283 were employed by the National Guard. The National Guard employed 120 graduates of the fifth batch which had 437 graduates, 40 graduates of the sixth batch which included 119 graduates, 96 graduates of the seventh batch which included 338 graduates, 100 graduates of the 365 graduates of the eighth class. The employment at the National Guard is set by its needs, he said. The minimum requirement of admission into the training program is a high school degree. Students are trained to deal with high-tech weapons and other course related to the military. – Okaz __
