A Saudi and two Somali men have been arrested for attacking a shop assistant, and for stealing a safe and a car they used as a getaway vehicle. Police were first informed of a stolen vehicle shortly after midnight late Tuesday, and soon after an Indian shop worker arrived at Al-Safa Police Station to report that he had been subject to a knife-attack by three persons who, after being unable to open his safe, removed the entire unit and disappeared. Patrols were alerted and checkpoints set up in Al-Safa until a vehicle was stopped two hours later containing three persons identified as the suspects in the robbery. During questioning the two Somalis said that the Saudi man was the ringleader who had instigated the crime, and that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time. They also led police to where they had hidden the money after emptying the safe of its contents and dumping it.
