Topping Class A elimination with 864 from a four-game series, Jun Pilipina dethroned defending champion Ed Sardi?a (403-358) then clinched the overall men's crown with his 403 from two-game finals over the other class champions while Fatima Jintarat who started eighth place kegled massively in the last game to be the woman champion with her 789 from four-game total at the end of the Filipino Expatriate Damayan Bowling Group Quest for Bowler of April 2010 at the Bowling City here. Equally entertaining matches were also exhibited by other class championships. Jun Estefano, who top-qualified Class B with 835, finished off Tommy de Castro in high-scoring submission of 464-407 wherein the earlier tremendously blasted the latter on sets of 243-229 and 221-178. Becomingly heralded Sol Cuenca bowled a classic championship to topple top qualifier Jowet Carreon and emerged as Class D champion on games of 235-163 and 204-162. But the most cheered class championship was flaunted by equally promising Class C keglers Jett Santos top qualifier Dodgie Gregorio. Santos profusely humbled Gregorio at 228-178 in Game 1. So confident Santos slackened his guard which chanced Gregorio to string four baggers from frame three to six till a must strike-out is met in frame 10 of Game 2. So lucky for Santos, Gregorio only rolled spare to be 9-pin short. With a pressure-laden 221-182 Santos snapped Class C title on their final tallies of 408-399. The overall championship was presumably an easy sojourn for Pilipina as Estefano and Cuenca succumbed to exhaustion finishing 377 and 368 for third and fourth places respectively. But Santos made history for himself by almost giving Pilipi?a a nightmare. Way down with 164 in Game 1, Santos even opened up with split into Game 2. Recovering with three baggers and marking till the ninth frame, Santos up roared Gulf supporters. Cheering in jubilance was manager Marlon Heredia hoping for a punch out. But destined to be April champion Pilipi?a was saved by his 403 and took the crown when Santos can only finished 384 for first runner-up. In Women's division, Jintarat with 183 was blocked by Bheng Baraquel, Nurissa Ramos, Malou Gime, Aisah Silabay, Edna Domingo, Farida de Guzman and Evelyn Santoc after Game 1. A 212 push in Game 2 left Baraquel (429) and Gime (403) the obstacles for Jintarat (395) to be cleared on the next two games. Vangie Lim was on fourth place with 373 and Ramos kept distance at 367. Domingo was trailing at fifth on a 204 recovery. More arduous performances were then seen in the last game and ardent thrust enabled Jintarat to pierce through the fortress of Baraquel. At last, after three attempts Jintarat succeeded the FEDBG women's crown for the month of April. Baraquel finished first runner-up with 783, February Bowlfest champion Ramos ranked third with 771 and from seventh place, Silabay toppled the last berth with 757 on her 216 endgame blitz. Other women participants were Ester Santoc, Carmen Lim, Minda Guevarra, Jessica Fuentes and Sally Sanosa. __
