The enemies of Islam have tried to label the call of Sheikh Muhammad Abdul Wahhab as Wahhabism, but the Sheikh's call can only be described as a pure form of Islam, according to Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of Riyadh. Speaking to the media after a meeting of the Executive Committee for the Development of Dirayia, which he chaired on Tuesday, Prince Salman said: “The emergence of the Saudi State, based on the call led by Imam Muhammad Bin Saud and Sheikh Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahhab, is a purely Islamic call not adulterated with anything other than Islam.” “I challenge anyone who can produce a single letter in the books authored by Sheikh Muhammad Abdul Wahhab which contravenes Allah's Book or the Sunnah of His Prophet (peace be upon him),” said Prince Salman. He said that at the inception of the Saudi State, Imam Muhammad Bin Saud adopted the call of Sheikh Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahhab. This is a “pure call” derived from Allah's Book and the Sunnah of His Prophet (pbuh), said the Prince. Prince Salman said the First State was established in Dirayia, where the call was first expressed. Dirayia remained the capital of the First State until it was destroyed and shifted to Riyadh, the current capital.
