Liverpool returned to form with a resounding 4-1 victory over bottom club Portsmouth Monday to revive its hopes of finishing fourth in the Premier League and qualify for the Champions League. Striker Fernando Torres scored twice and Italian Alberto Aquilani, starting for just the fifth time since joining for 20 million pounds ($30.33 million) from Roma, claimed his first goal for the club. Dutchman Ryan Babel was also on target as Liverpool climbed above Manchester City into fifth place, one point behind Tottenham Hotspur which has a game in hand. City has two games in hand. Portsmouth, which look doomed to relegation after going into administration last month, grabbed a small consolation near the end with a well-worked goal from Nadir Belhadj. Portsmouth remains last with 19 points and is almost certain to be relegated. Atletico beats Osasuna Jose Manuel Jurado's late goal gave 10-man Atletico Madrid a 1-0 win against Osasuna Monday in the Spanish League. Jurado received the ball on the edge of the area and curled his shot past goalkeeper Ricardo Lopez in the 79th minute at Atletico's Calderon Stadium. Atletico midfielder Simao Sabrosa was sent off for a second yellow card in the 57th after a clumsy challenge on Cesar Azpilicueta. The result lifts Atletico to 10th place on 34 points. Osasuna is 13th on 31 points. Real Madrid and Barcelona share 65 points with Madrid top on goal difference. With striker Sergio Aguero unusually quiet, Atletico threatened only sporadically. In the 61st, Ibrahima Balde replaced Diego Forlan in attack as Atletico adjusted following Sabrosa's dismissal. Osasuna nearly scored when De Gea stretched to push a shot by Krisztian Vadocz over the bar.
