day Saudi Training and Job Fair, which opened at the Dhahran International Exhibition Center here Sunday, focuses on the employment of young Saudis in the information technology and communications sectors. Organizers said there has been a big increase in the training of Saudis in the IT and communications fields resulting in the high turnover of qualified young men and women seeking job vacancies in these sectors. The government has earmarked SR4 billion for employment and training to prepare Saudi youth to handle jobs in different business sectors. The revolution in communicationss and technology has increased the demand for qualified young Saudis to take over jobs from foreign workers. The over 24 million Saudi population is served by just three mobile operators and one fixed line operator, and therefore the growth in telecommunications services in the Kingdom has remained strong.
