Saudis outnumbered other wealthy Arab entrepreneurs with Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal ranked number 19 globally on the annual Forbes list of billionaires, many other businessmen from the Kingdom are also among the world's 500 richest. Prince Alwaleed has been featured in Forbes magazine's annual list of richest people for 11 consecutive years. Prince Alwaleed, chairman of Kingdom Holding, is worth $19.4 billion, with his wealth growing $6.1 billion in one year, the US-based magazine said. Mexican telecom tycoon Carlos Slim is the first man from a developing nation to become the world's richest person - a shift that underlines the loosening of America and Europe's stranglehold on the top spots in the billionaires' club. Slim's arrival at the top aroused both pride and anger in Mexico, where many see his fantastic wealth in a poverty-afflicted nation as a sign of what ails it. With a recovery in the value of his cell phone holdings pushing his estimated fortune to $53.5 billion, Slim jumped past Microsoft founder Bill Gates and investor Warren Buffett. The rise of Slim, the 70-year-old son of an immigrant shopkeeper, is just a part of the emergence of billionaires in developing countries, Forbes reporter Keren Blankfeld said. She noted this year's top 10 richest also include two billionaires from India and one from Brazil. Apart from Prince Alwaleed, there are other billionaires from Saudi Arabia among the top 500, more than from any other single Arab country. Saudi businessman Mohammed Al-Amoudi, 65, controls a fortune of $10 billion and is ranked number 64 globally. His interests include petroleum, mining and agriculture. Fifty-one-year-old Saudi hotel and real estate tycoon Mohammed Bin Issa Al-Jaber is ranked 93rd globally with a fortune of $7.5 billion. Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, 90, was estimated worth $6.5 billion, with the global ranking of 109. He is chairman and largest shareholder of Al Rajhi Bank in Saudi Arabia. His 98-year-old brother Saleh Al-Rajhi ranks 129th with $5.8 billion in wealth. Saleh Kamel, 68, head of diversified Saudi group Dallah Albaraka is estimated worth $2.6 billion. His global rich ranking is 367.
