Seamer Darren Sammy ripped through Zimbabwes top order with career-best figures of 4-26 as the West Indies beat Zimbabwe by 141 runs Wednesday in the third One-Day International. Sammy was assisted well by pace bowler Kemar Roach (3-28) and fellow all-rounder Dwayne Bravo (2-23) as Zimbabwe was bowled out for 104 off 31.5 overs. Hamilton Masakadza topscored with a run-a-ball 35, but seven batsman fell in single figures. Earlier, veteran left-hander Shivnarine Chanderpaul anchored West Indies to 245-9 off 50 overs. The 35-year-old topscored with 58 off 76 deliveries. Openers Chris Gayle (33) and Adrian Barath (35) had set a solid platform with a first-wicket stand of 48, while the late order beefed up the total by adding 92 runs from the last 10 overs. The West Indies leads the five-match series 2-1 with the final two matches to be played at the same venue, Arnos Vale Sports Complex, on Friday and Sunday. Zimbabwe's chase was set back when Vusi Sibanda lost his off stump to a spectacular Roach yorker third ball of the innings. But Masakadza and Brendan Taylor (19) energized the pursuit in an enterprising stand of 51 for the second wicket. Masakadza led the way, cracking two fours and a six while Taylor also counted a couple of fours. Once Sammy broke through with a sharp, two-handed return catch as Taylor drove, the innings went into terminal decline as the last nine wickets tumbled for 53 runs. Sammy claimed Tatenda Taibu and Masakadza to edges to the wicketkeeper while Bravo trapped Stuart Matsikenyeri LBW for a first ball duck as Zimbabwe tumbled to 58 for five. All-rounders Greg Lamb and Elton Chigumbura offered brief resistance before Roach returned to further derail the visitors when he gained a leg before wicket verdict against Chigumbura (10). Sammy grabbed his fourth scalp with a fine leg-cutter that beat Timycen Marumas bat and cannoned into the top of off stump. Roach then removed Lamb through a magnificent left-handed diving catch at slip by his skipper Gayle as the West Indies closed in on victory. Zimbabwe captain Prosper Utseya made an unbeaten 13 at the end to push his team past three figures but they still fell for the lowest ever one-day total in 18 matches at this venue. Graeme Cremer upper cut Bravo to third man before Gayle, who dropped a catch which would have given Sammy a five-wicket haul, collected another sharp catch off Nikita Miller to end the match. The West Indies innings was given a sound foundation once Gayle dominated an opening stand of 48 off 15.3 overs. The 30-year-old mixed aggression with defiant defence, striking three fours and a massive six before he was stumped off Utseya's ripping off-break. Utseya also removed Barath, who lofted a catch to long-on at 86 for two in the 26th over. Chanderpaul and Denesh Ramdin rebuilt in a patient third-wicket stand of 65 before they fell off successive balls. Ramdin, who scored 19 off 37 deliveries, pulled leg-spinner Timycen Maruma straight to midwicket. Chanderpaul was run out by Utseya's direct hit from short fine leg and the innings was at the crossroads at 151-4 with 11 overs remaining. The lower order rallied West Indies to their competitive score with some slick running between the wickets and big hitting.
