In risky rescues mission, firefighters in Jouf forced their way amid columns of fire and smoke to save two children inside their apartment. The mother and her six children went through an ordeal trying to get out of the apartment that was being gutted by fire. The apartment door was locked from inside and the key was tossed somewhere the mother could not know. When they sensed the fire, her neighbors rushed to help her breaking the door. Inside the burning apartment, they managed to bring out four children but they failed to reach the other two because of billowing intense smoke blanketing the whole apartment. When alerted to the accident, Civil Defense firefighters and rescue teams arrived to the location and forced their way into the blazing apartment and pulled out the two remaining children out of the fire. The children were then rushed to hospital and received necessary treatment. Jouf police spokesman Col. Khalf Al-Shiran said short circuit in one of the rooms caused the fire. – Okaz __
