While the home side was outscored by two tries to one, some fine long-distance goalkicking by center Meyer Bosman with four penalties plus three by flyhalf Naas Olivier lifted the Cheetahs too far out of the Hurricanes' reach. Forced to play catch-up rugby in the final quarter, the Hurricanes were unable to get back into the match despite a 70th-minute try by fullback Cory Jane, and lost for the first time in four matches. Stormers rout Highlanders In Cape Town, the Stormers forwards were overpowering in a 33-0 rout of the Otago Highlanders in the Super 14 at Newlands Stadium also Saturday. Three of their four tries were engineered by solid work up front, then Springbok swinger Bryan Habana rounded off the performance with the bonus-point fourth try on the stroke of fulltime. Waratahs beat Sharks New South Wales handed the Sharks their fourth straight loss to open the Super 14 season, beating the South African side 25-21 Saturday. The Waratahs improved to 2-2.
