Dr. Abdul Aziz Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information, said that the establishment of a commission for Saudi writers was under way. Khoja who toured the ongoing Riyadh Book Festival Friday night said the ministry already has an assistant agency for writers and libraries. However, he added that the ministry would be in the process of transforming it into an independent commission for Saudi writers soon. He said the establishment of a league for Saudi writers is being studied. Meanwhile, Saudi writer Abdo Khal's novel “She Throws Sparks” also known in English as “Spewing Sparks as Big as Castles” has emerged as the bestseller during the book fair. Yusuf Al-Yusuf, Director of the Publications Administration in the fair, said that not a single book has been withdrawn from the fair. He, however, said that his administration reserved the right to withdraw any book that contradicted the publication regulations and principles.
