Batsmen shine in JCA Division I

A fine unbeaten knock of 97 off 47 balls by Majid of Hyderabad Green enabled his team to win by 8 wickets against Old Students-XI, an unbeaten 88 by Rayeesuddin helped Brothers-XI win by 8 wickets against Shalimar, an unbeaten 72 by Zaman powered Zinda Tilismat against Pure Foods, another unbeaten 77 by Sadiq Memon lifted Pak Ahmadabad-XI against Rawi and Natco Saudi Arabia beat Saad Group by 65 runs as Humayun Farooq made a match-winning half century in the 7th week matches of JCA Division I Championship for ACE Cup which is sponsored by the ACE Travel & Tours and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
The Old Students-XI, batting first, scored 185-5 in 18 overs against Hyderabad Green as Muneeb made 50 off 20 balls, Hamid 40, Umair 28, Zeeshan 18 and Raja 16. Shaban, Haneef, Islam and T. Shah took one wicket each.
In reply Hyderabad Green reached 189-2 in 15.1 overs. Majid blasted an unbeaten 97 (9x4 and 6x6), Asif 37 and Bilal 9. Mohammad claimed 2-48.
Shalimar, batting first, made 140-7 in 18 overs against Brothers-XI through Zain Al Salikeen 42, Abdul Rauf 25 not out, Rana Shahzad 23, Tariq Jamal 14 and Muzaffar Hussain 9 not out. Rayeesuddin 3-31, Shamim 2-12 and Moin 1-30 were the main wicket-takers. Brothers-XI made 141-2 as Rayeesuddin hit an unbeaten 88, supported by Amanullah 17 not out and Shamim 11. Rana Shahzad and Zainul Huda of Shalimar took one wicket each. Pure Foods-XI, batting first, made 191-6 against Zinda Tilismat of India Hyderabad-XI. Though Abdul Rehman Khalil was unlucky to be run out for 8, Sajjad Butt made 60, Omer 32, Rushdi 29 and Shahid Amin 11. There were 30 extras. Zahid 2-19, Asjad 1-32, Anas 1-39 and Ghulam 1-32 took the wickets that fell.
Zinda Tilismat reached 193-2 in 14.1 overs. Jaweed Ahmed hit 30, Urooj 35, Zaman 72 (31 balls) and captain Sadathullah 48 n.o. A match-winning partnership of 113 runs between Zaman and Sadathullah was the highlight of the match. Amjad took one wicket.
Rawi, batting first, 5 made 173-7 against Pak Ahmadabad-XI. Shamsheer made 46, Sangeen 39, captain Sher Ali 29, Shafiullah 8 and Abid 8. Sadiq Memon and Zahid took 2 wickets. Ashraf, Younus and Ijaz got one wicket each.
Pak Ahmadabad-XI reached 177-2 in 16.2 overs. Sadiq Memon was the hero as he hit an unbeaten 77. Saleem Sheikh remained unbeaten on 58 and Abdul Rauf hit 29. Shafiullah claimed 1-27 and Sher Ali 1-34.
Batting first, Natco Saudi Arabia scored 187-6 against Saad Group. Humayun Farooq made 50, Attaur Rehman 35, Fahad 29, Ashiq Ali 22, Athar Ali 14 and Imran 9. Umar 2-41, Sajid 1-32, Riyaz 1-40 and Mustafa 1-40.
Saad Group could reach 122 only. Sajid 37, Mustafa 36, Abdul Hakeem 11 and Tariq 9. Attaur Rehman 2-40, Humayun Farooq 2-18, Ashiq Ali 2-27 and Fahad 1
