An Egyptian woman convicted of running a brothel and selling illegal drugs has been sentenced to seven years in prison and 1,080 lashes of the whip. She has also been ordered to pay a fine of SR5,000 and will be deported upon completion of her sentence. The District Court pronounced its verdict Tuesday after hearing how the woman had been put under police surveillance which established that she sold drugs in several districts of Jeddah and recruited women to commit “immoral acts”.
